Narita divorce

Postby Jack » Wed Nov 06, 2002 4:02 am

I don't live in Japan but have been fascinated by that country for a long time and I visit it several times a year. I think I have a reasonable understanding of the culture but I have a question regarding the so-called Narita divorce. Is this just a myth or it actually does happen? I understand the goings on leading to a Narita divorce but has anyone really heard of this happening in real life? And if so, is it really as rampant as some people say?

Thank you in advance.

I am not sure if your question is rethorical but if you have never heard of it then it is not as rampant as I thought. It is basically young married couples on their honeymoon just to find out that they are not made for each other. They come back to Japan and get divorced soon after. This is supposed to be due to the behaviour of the couple outside of Japan.
