Serving as Guide to a Richly Tawdry Bazaar
Mr. Trink, 71, is what he likes to call the entertainment editor of the Bangkok Post -- a chronicler, critic and booster of the red-light industry here in what he dubs Fun City.

"It's nice to have good sex with someone you love," he said the other day, summing up his years as a night owl. "But that doesn't mean you can't have good sex with someone you don't love."

Man, that's priceless stuff. And I could have written something poignant like that myself.

The guy's 71. Maybe he's looking for an apprentice?

By the way, not all Thai women are bargirls or prostitutes. From my limited experience, I have found that most are very conservative and have traditional values. The popular image that springs from the Bangkok red light districts is misleading.

You are right. But even if they are nightlife working gilrs, many of them still came from very poor families from the country side, and they will work till certain age and go back to their hometown to get married. I heard that normally the family and village peoples knows and accept the kind of jobs she does in the city,in fact they feel proud of her,as she is the breadwinner

Yes, a very sad situation indeed. And the f*ers who patronize child prostitution over there and take advantage of that kind of poverty need to be hanged by their testicles, IMHO.
