Canadian PM doesn't think Bush is "a moron"

I'm always happy to see Canada get mentioned in world news. It makes me so proud to be Canadian.

When someone keeps harping at the same issue (i.e. Bush wanting to attack Iraq) while no one else is interested, that's bound to create tensions. Bush would be well advised to take a looooong vacation maybe in a Japanese soapland, and rethink his bullying insticts.

They SHOULD be interested.. But, oh yeah, Canada doesn't really have to worry about anything except beer and syrup.

It'll be interesting to see what Canada is like when she (is Canada a chick?) has 280 million people. I have a feeling it will be less 'utopian-like'.. Enjoy it while it lasts!

Oh, and send me some KGB!

Why should they be interested? Iraq has done nothing to Americans, Canadians nor Europeans. Hussein is a bad guy, no question, but so are many others in Africa who rule countries. Why pick on one guy?

Um, what does your car run on? Plus the location. The world can't afford for the Middle East to be TOO unstable.. It has to be a little unstable, or else what other excuse would we have to be there? But the world runs on oil, like it or not.

I personally hate it. I am SO proud that in Oregon, my home state, we can choose where our energy comes from.. aside from cars. We can sign up for 'renewable resource' energy with the power company. Meaning all, or 99% of the energy for the household comes from renewable sources..

I agree that there are many others as bad, or worse than Saddam. But the ball is already rolling on Saddam.. Maybe they don't need to support Bush, but they should definitely pay attention to what's going on in his tiny, one tracked mind. It WILL affect everyone.

And for Africa... It's almost beyond repair, in parts... So sad.

Bush aint a moron.

But he doens paint a picture of himself being a winner of any MENSA awards.

I mean, he obviously has to be pretty intelligent to get to where he is. But he isnt the greatest public speaker.
I will not abide ignorant intolerance just for the sake of getting along.

America had no business fighting the Gulf war in 1990. It was just a hirde hand by the Kuwaitis to win their country back. The Kuwaiti government had an investment house in London caled the Kuwaiti Investment Office (KIO) and in 1990 it had over US$90 billion in investments. I believe that KIO is now closed because they had to ay America and the allies for the war effort. For a quick history, Kuwait belonged to Iraq until the British screwed up the whole Arab world after WWII to appease their friends by giving them land here and there. As far as Iraqis are concerned, Kuwait belongs to them.

I still say Iraq has never done anything to hurt Americans or Europeans. The country fought Iran and then Kuwait. No other country. S what if the have nuclear weapons? Isreal to has nuclear weapons and they were going to use it in 1974 before the Americans came to their aide s that they don't use the bomb. Why does Israel has a right to having the bomb and not the Iraqis.

I think the American public has been too brainwashed in thinking that Iraq is a threat to America where in actual fact, it is not. Just lok at the evidence. Show me one instance of Iraqi aggression towards westerners.

Respetfully,

Japanese wanabe

Again, you did not give me a clear reason why Hussein is such a threat. If Americans were bombed or "gassed" as you say, it's because they were in Iraq fighting. If Iraq had the means and the will to harm America it would have done so long ago. The fact is it has NEVER done it. From what I see Hussein has no bones to pick with America or the West. Heck, America was helping him during the Iran-Iraq war. Geezzz make up your mind. Is he a friend or an ennemy?

Kuwaiti oil is overrarted I am not in the inner circle of intelligentia but it seems to me that America had no business fighting a war in the Gulf. Now Bush suddenly thinks Hussein is the biggest threat to the world. get over it. Don't buy all the crap you hear. Hussein knows better than to provoke America.

I do compare Iraq to Israel because they are the same. One opresses Palestinians the other does it with the Kurds.

Anyway, let's agree to disagree on this one. By the way, I do not live in Japan but visit there very often. It's my favourite place in the world.

That's a great point, and I wish more westerners knew this fact.. Doesn't Africa also have some British connection?

Another interesting fact about Saddam: the US gave him the spores for the biological weapons, we're so scared of now, to fight the Iranians.

Jack wrote:Why does Israel have a right to having the bomb and not the Iraqis.

Weren't most of scientists, who made the original bomb, Jewish?

I still say the best way to fight Saddam is to ride a bicycle and use renewable resources... But the table is set, my friend. We NEED oil, and as long as an oil family is controlling an oil country, the US will make sure the western world's oil supply isn't disturbed.

(Actually, the US doesn't even use that much oil from the Middle East. Most of it comes from Venezuela and Mexico. But Japan would definitely be f*cked if there was instability in the region)

Anonymous wrote:I don't think Oppenheimer was Jewish but really what difference does that make. Clearly, there were, pardon the pun, "gentile" minds in Germany who were close to making the bomb and other countries as well.

What exactly are you trying to say?

The comment was made in jest. Oppenheimer wasn't Jewish? My mistake. I thought that was how we got him from Germany.. Anyway, I wasn't really serious. But I guess it's unacceptable for a non-Jew to joke about Jews.

Hey, don't let the secret out about Oregon. We already have too many Californians Californicating it. It rains all the time and only white supremasists live there

You're a few years off. The British redistributed that land after the first world war. Additionally, PM Balfour's declaration of support for a Zionist state in Palestine (and the bloody rebellion that caused in the Middle East) are almost a century old now.

GuyJean wrote:Weren't most of scientists, who made the original bomb, Jewish?

Well, Szilard was a Hungarian Jew. He was the scientist that urged Einstein to write the letter to President Roosevelt.

Not sure if you're confusing Zionism with Jews. That's about all I know on that subject.

America fought two wars against the British. Now the two countries are close allies. Things change.
