I saw basically that in Shibuya one time but they were parked and blabbering on over a loudspeaker. Near where I used to work there was a poster stuck on a wall, with a bunch of other advertising and political erection posters, with イエスキリスト in big bold letters and a bunch of other kanji I never bothered to read. I always thought it looked like some kind of Jesus election poster.

back when i lived in kansai, i would see a car with a bunch of similar decals that would drive around preaching eternal damnation to nonbelievers, every japanese person i knew said it was 'kowai' .. but then again, i guess fear is a large part of christianity no matter where you go.

I see this van occasionally here in Osaka. Not for the past few months but it does seem to still be around.

I was pretty surprised by the fire'n'brimstone content but whatever... They're all a bunch of freaks anyway.

Can't say that I remember seeing that, but a group from the Children of God cult (AKA The Family, AKA Hookers for God) was making the rounds at the Hanami on the banks of the Yodo Gawa this past April....

The best thing about Japan is that Christianity will never take it over.

Indeed, it is fortunate that the majority of Japanese treat religion as nothing more than a trend with which to mark certain events throughout their lives.

We don't get vans out here, but they do like to loudspeaker people outside the main arcade on Sunday afternoons, which I suppose is one up on the uyokus as it shows they are likely to be gainfully employed.

Ya think these christ warrior dudes cause a stinky shit ?

Just wait until the Iranians and Indonesians become 1% of the Japan population
(the Mosques are already pooping up around Tokyo)

It will send the politicians into a mental breakdown

Japan ain't seen nothing yet,
once again its denial syndrome will backfire

and Japan will be dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century of neo-jihadism

Japan should definitely kick out all the middle easterners while they still can. There is no country where they don't bring misery.

I don't get why the christwarriors are so feared
Most of the hardline Christians trying to get a foothold in Japan come from groups in Korea or Taiwan but in reality they are quiet tame
yes you get fucked up ones anti-abortion groups, racists like the Klan boys, Westboro Baptist freaks but in general these are minor groups who are not supported by the general population and not supported by the government.
Once you tell these bible bashing freaks there is a separation between church and state, they soon STFU because they don't have much of a power base left.

Look at the number of Iranains on the streets of Tokyo. With their hardliners - the extremist Islams
the picture is very different
large majorities in Lebanon, Jordan, Iran and Indonesia have a very negative opinion of the United States and many think bin laden is a good guy (even though his terrorism has killed many muslims). Don't think they just target 'Westerners' they sawed off the head of some Filipino and Korean charity workers and remember the big buddha they exploded because some muslim cleric found it offensive.
For now some of you might think Japan is a picture perfect little kingdom, a dream workforce with lots of unity and social harmony. However the economics are looking shitty again
Japanese will be forced to import foreign workers to keep the economy moving and put that looming elderly population in check. These guys aren't going to STFU just because you tell them there is a seperation between church and state.
