I am doing some research on Neiman Marcus department stores and how well known they are in Japan. In the US Neiman Marcus is well know as a very high end department store. The closest store to Japan seems to be Honolulu with San Francisco after that. I found that NM in the late 1990's they worked with J. Walter Thompson and developed their own mailing list of 100,000 people in Japan who paid $13.50 to buy a subscription to their catalog.
Does anyone have any thoughts on Neiman Marcus in Japan?

I've had a couple of students who were constantly ordering high end bags and other goods from Neiman Marcus. They even had staff who spoke Japanese who could service the customers more efficiently.
