Canadian Girlz are Easy

Postby Iraira » Sun Feb 22, 2009 1:14 am

ImageHad a kim chi nabe party tonight and somehow, a bunch of friends and I got into the following discussion: when 13-14 year olds are hanging with their friends in LA, and the lie came up "Yeah, I had sex once.", it always resulted in a bunch of questions from the friends. One of the first two questions was always, "Who and where" The answer was always, "my cousin who lives in Canada's friend". If the person had not been to Canada, they came up with another place, but, it always seemed like Canadian girls were fictitiously giving it up to a lot of young American guys. So, I asked they J-guys at the party, what part of Japan the imaginary cherry stealer cousin's friend lived in when they lied to their friends about who and where they first "got laid".
The answers were the same, it was a girl two wards over...which to me seems too close. Friends could have asked you to prove that she existed, if she was just a 30 minute train ride away. Canada, I think I localized it to Calgary in my version, which I maintained until last week;) , served as an almost fullproof place that could neither be verified or disproven easily.

Nice to know that we all lie about the same things when we were kids.

when i was a kid, it was always some friend's friend or cousin in or from quebec. i think in this case though there was actually a grain of truth to the claim in most cases ;)

Growing up just outside Boston, this kind of thing (as well as the sources for every bizarre urban legend) always came by way of "my cousin in New Hampshire's friend." Hearing enough of these stories gave me an image of New Hampshire as being filled with rutting hillbilly freaks more likely to have a felony conviction than a driver's license.

Of course, I later found that this was actually true. But still...

I told everyone I had shagged my sister. OK, it wasn't a lie, but hey, at least I got laid.

Well, as long as it was more than a couple of times it's okay. It's probably better than having to do your brother...

When I was a kid people always claimed that she was from lowell or worchester. I do agree with you on the moohampshire thing but even better, Maine! Go to a bar in the sticks up there and say "I'm from Bahston" and its like being a rich banker in roppongi.

Only if they weren't really from Massachusetts. It's pronounced WI-stah by the locals and spelled Worcester.

Worcester may be the correct spelling, but how the locals spell it is something else entirely .

Mine was from Sudbury. OK, it wasn't a lie, but at least ..... I got mono from her.
Mr Kobayashi: First, I experienced a sort of overpowering feeling whenever I was in the room with foreigners, not to mention a powerful body odor coming from them. I don't know whether it was a sweat from the heat or a cold sweat, but I remember I was sweating whenever they were around.

Never criticize anyone until you've walked several kilometres in their shoes.
Because

1. You're now several kilometres away; and

2. You've got their shoes.
