Got some time on your hands in Ikebukuro today 17th - go get drunk for free

Sake lovers will have an opportunity to sample 500 varieties of the drink from around the country at the Nihon-shu Fair 2009, to be held at Tokyo's Ikebukuro Sunshine City on June 17.

I don't think it's free...
Admission is \3,000 for tickets purchased in advance and \3,500 at the door.

Ah - then I believe the magic phrase (used by so many tight a** FG) at the door is 'Konnichiwa Gaijin Kisha Club desu – Yoroshiku' If luck is with you - Voila you are a official accredited internet reporter and in you go and down the hatch.

A confident wave with panache and aplomb of your Sony netbook works very well for tech events in Japan by the way. But let's keep that between you and I.

Good luck - don't drink too much! Save your liver for Steve Bildermann's World Cup 2010 Drinking game - only 363 days to go.

Speaking of World Cup, in another event, the "qualifier" game between Samurai Japan and Australia is also tonight. I am debating whether I should go and watch it at any one of the bars knowing that it's going to be a massive sausage fest with the Japanese salarymen.
