My grand mother - never drank 87 not out, grandpa 91 not out - never drinks. My olther grandmother and father dead in 50s and mid 60s - they drank.

It's very easy to slant research to favor who ever is paying the bills. Just look at the climate change data manipulation thats been going on.

On that basis, I'd rather trust my own research than some pseudo scientists claims funded by some beer company.

One of his best friends who was ecactly the same age (born the same day, month and year), was a professional Broadway dancer, had zero history of heart disease in his family and was in excellent shape dropped dead of a heart attack in the middle of a performance about 8 years ago. According to my "research" I better not take up dancing to get into shape and instead just follow my dad's lead.

Yeah, none of the heavy drinkers I've ever known have made it past their late 60s, and all were head cases way before that; everyone was secretly glad to see them go.

The (kind of obvious) flaw in this study, I think, is the "non-drinker". I don't particularly like drinking -I'm a coffee addict- but I'll have a drink or two if the occasion calls for it or I want to mellow out. Although I HATE feeling drunk, would never call myself a non-drinker.

So why would somebody, aside from being an AA member, never touch a drink? Hepatitis would do it, or some other liver disease, or chronic ulcers, colitis, or chronic diverticulitis, etc. etc. and there's also a long list of prescription drugs for chronic disorders that preclude the use of alcohol - I'm sure you guys could add a lot more to my list.

My point is that many non-drinkers are probably not very healthy to begin with which is why they can't/won't drink.
