Where's the gas?

Postby wuchan » Mon Mar 14, 2011 4:23 pm

All the stations near me are out of gasoline and they don't know when they are getting more. There has been no mention of this in the media. What's going on?

what channel have you been watching?? just about every report i've seen has mentioned that the supply of petrol levels is as low as disposable hand warmers, batteries, mobile phone chargers, etc.

oops. the wife and I both missed any mention of the petrol thing... but in all fairness my kid has been watching disney all day.

The blackouts didn't happen (yet) because a lot of businesses did a very good job of keeping power usage to a minimum and millions of people didn't bother to go to work.

There were a couple of fires in Chiba's ports. One of them looked like natural gas tanks but maybe some of the oil supply or its facilities went up in smoke?

They are? Can you confirm that? Can a blackout be described as "planned" when no one, including TEPCO apparently, knows WTF the "plan" is?
