ya... I remember when SOCOM came out (the online only version) and I would never have any competeition... so I quit that shit after a few months cause it was boring. I had to hunt for the servers where the 'mericans were playing on if I wanted to have fun...

That and Japanese suck at starcraft.

But on Street Fighter... they kill. Tekken the Koreans own basically. meh... I am addicted to starcrack now... so ya..

I am a 37 going on 38 year old video game player. I have played them since I was a kid. I guess it's kind of inbroiled in my system now. Questioning why I play is petty. I played cause that was what I did when I was a kid. We played Mario and Zelda. Temco Bowl and Blades of Steel. That was what we did when we weren't out goofing off and getting into trouble. Now I have a son that plays too. He plays as much as me. But I curb his participation so that he does go outside and ride his skateboard and mess with the chicks in the neighborhood. I am a video game (FPS) junkie. I play them. My wife, who is Japanese, hates it. Fuck it. I play cause if I didn't I would kill people in real life. It's my relaxation. I also masterbate alot. Sue me!


As for Anime??? That shit is fucking stupid and anyone over the age of 12 watching it should be beaten and thrown into a shark tank.

I grew up during the heyday of the British microcomputer games scene in the 80's, a time when men were men, women were women and the owner of a double cassette stereo ruled the school playground, so spend a lot of time mashing keys getting little 2d figures to jump back and forth. I kind of lost interest in games more challenging than Tetris for a couple of decades, but by way of marriage acquired a PS3 and "Medal of Honor Airborne", which despite being 6 years old now still blows my mind (remember, last time I played games you had to load them from cassette tape) and provides an agreeable way of passing the time every now and then. (Can anyone recommend games of similar playability to "Medal of Honor Airborne"? I acquired the latest one in the series but it's very "scripted" and not much fun really).

Anime - meh, don't see the attraction.

Nothing personal, but although I'm an octopus of few principles, one is not to plug the PS3 into any form of network as I'm sure it will turn out to be addictive, time-consuming fun which is a rabbit hole I'd like to avoid at the moment.
