Anyone remember JapPundit website?

Just a random thought, I remember that 10 years ago or so there was a great blog called Jappundit. Some guy living on the "great tokohu plain" self-published a well-made blog and eventually a podcast as well. Anyone know what I'm talking about? I tried to look it up recently and the domain is now some complete nonsense. Miss that blog!

I don't remember that one, but a few years back (2009-2012-ish???) there was a massive shift and a huge cull/exodus/clearance away from those better done blogs and BBS board sites like this to Facebook/Reddit style social media. I still think it's a bit of a shame that Facebook is considered attractive even by non-retards but that seems to be the New Reality.
Also, I think a lot of bloggers just sort of ran out of steam. It did seem to me to have an expiry date on it as a medium even from the beginning; eventually most people just run out of shiite to say, which seems fair. The death of BBS like this seemed more of a strategic business move where the owners and sponsors got tired of the administrative BS and the newer anime/manga-tard 20dumbthings couldn't handle being told they weren't the best thing to ever happen to Japan and everything went towards bum wiping social media circle jerks where they can all tell each other they are bestest everest, LOL.............

Hahaha, I can feel the bitterness, and I like it. Your explanation makes great sense. I'm just happy FG is still here and seemingly going strong. This place is unique!

I was playing that up more than a bit, but whatever caused the change the replacements (Facebook, Twatter, photo caption sites, etc.) are no replacement for me, and BBS and such are far more stimulating in MYHOMO. But we still have FG
