In a ways some of these guys kind of remind me of the History of Steve Bannon and the Biosphere 2, all these types were kind of futurists, dreamed of building cyberpunk cities on Mars but then something changed along the way, maybe they got old and angry, maybe even though they once embraced tech they became political Luddities?
