Well, infomercial stats are suspect but they were talking about volume of veggies eaten in a day not proportion as compated to meat. And who knows what was being counted. If they were counting things like fries and corn chips as veggies then it could be true. Regardless, it seems to me that the Japanese don't eat much in the way of fresh veggies.
