I do many things - I was on JET but now I teach English for about 7 hrs a week, French 1 hour and Welsh 1 hour a week. All private usually earn about 6,000 yen an hour. I do loads of other things as well - I sometimes help out at the local ichiba(fish market) sorting fish - great for my Japanese. I went out on a whaler last month and saw a minke being harpooned - but didnt get paid! I am being paid a small amount to write an English guide for a local musuem. I paint oils - I have sold a few. My best friend is the Wakayama natural history expert - we are thinking of starting a bird and whale watching tour for city dwellers......I am also a gigilo(shhhh!)!
Welsh? That's bizarre? Why would a Japanese want to learn Welsh?... Is it that their English and French is now perfect and they can't bear to say goodbye to their wonderful teacher?
The "what do you do?" question has been asked before. UltraG, could you make a sticky thread that contains links to all the commonly asked questions?

.....no just one couple who used to work for panasonic in the LLandar valley near Cardiff. Welsh is spoken by the many friends they made there - they just want help not forgetting what they learnt. It is a bit unusual - but the contacted me through the Japan St Davids society - I am localish - and help them out - for 6000yen a time. I don`t teach them English though.
