Breaking up is hard to do?

Postby gomichild » Sat Dec 13, 2003 1:31 pm

Not a problem I've had myself - usually just tell the person that it's not working out and that you shouldn't see each other any more right?

It was surprising then to read some of the ridiculous tactics in WaiWai's Dump your lover -- with a dump

Especially since I've never considered someone going to the toilet (in the toilet) grounds for breaking up....

Nose picking of course is another matter...

Doesn't the tact and sensitivity you use to break up with someone a reflection of your self respect? Why make it more unhappy than you need to?

So anyway what's your worst dumping or being dumped anecdote?

To quote from page 24, para. 12, of the official FG Manual...

'FG Manual' wrote:Standard Operating Procedure: "the Dump"
Leave Japan on short notice.

Cautionary note: The Leave-Japan dump is so common among FG that simply announcing that you're going home for vacation or business with cause all the S.O. Japanese in your life to go into the hyper-horizontal mode.

I have to say I can sympathize with feeling the need fir using innovative ways to dump a Japanese significant other. When things haven't worked out between me and girls I dated in the past, it was never enough to just say so. These girls would always continue to call me or send emails even though it was obvious that I wasn't initiating any conversation with them. Even now, I have old flings sending me emails occasionally, as if it were possible to get back together again.
