I can't beleive they think the "carrying for a friend" line is gonna work. The daughter almost had the right idea, but it's all blown now cause the stories don't jibe. The problem with her story is that she said it was still an illegal item, just not drugs. She should have denied any knowledge of what her parents bags contained. She *might* have been released then.


Unless she has some reason to *want* to be in jail...

Lax is too concerned with Taliban Guerillas and grannies.. than to bust some dope fiends.

I'd imagine lots of drugs get smuggled all over the world and that a very small percentage are busted..

But based on taking my experience at the airport last week, I can see how they are being busted here. At the Northwest checkin, they searched every passenger.. every checked bag, except for the carry-on luggage.

I couldn't believe it. It took them forever to do it too..

Dopeheads deserve hard jail time for drug smuggling. Unless it really was a case of some of those that were duped to act as flying mules...

I don't know this guy, but I'd say he and the family better get ready for a rough time..

They were also flying between Japan and the US once a month since 2000. Unless they are some ultra rich types or top executives this is a dead giveaway for drug runners.

Taro: I don't think I've heard of Michael McGee, but the name sounds vaguely familiar to me, too. Maybe it's just because Mike McGee is one of those names that always sounds like someone you know?
