Lord's prayer in Japanese

Postby Mulboyne » Sun Jun 06, 2004 9:05 am

In a very off-piste marketing effort, The Japan Catholic Expatriates posted their link on the SPRCI-JAPAN web page, specifically the Message Board

SPRCI is a global "Site for Party Club & Rave Information" so obviously a hotbed of lost souls

Unlike The Monkees, I'm not a believer but, even so, curious to see this in Japanese. Tagalog available too.
Prayers in Japanese
Our Father, who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Ten ni orareru watashitachi no chichi yo, mina ga sei to saremasu yoni. Mikuni ga kimasu yoni, Mikokoro ga ten ni okonawareru tori chi ni mo okonawaremasu yoni. Watashitachi no higoto no kate wo kyo mo o atae kudasai. Watashitachi no tsumi wo o yurushi kudasai; watashitachi mo hito wo yurushimasu. Watashitachi wo yuwaku ni ochi irasezu aku kara o sukui kudasai.

Mo' okashii, is the wacky Japanese X-ian opinion that English Bible is the "true" word. Of course there are MANY examples in the Japanese New Testament of kimi (you/inferior/darling) that are not in the the original Koine Greek. Meh, it's all apocriaphilia anyway. :?
