Will be moving to Sanjo

Postby Akisa » Sun Jul 25, 2004 11:19 am

I will be moving to Sanjo next summer and I was wondering if it is possible to get American TV, via satellite or whatever? Also, any advice on purchasing electronics, beds, and other home furnishings? Are there any FG's who will be selling anything around that time?  .
I really need a comfortable bed. I am sick of sleeping on the bed I have now, but since I am moving, I do not want to get a new one. Anyone try the Tempurpedic. What bed is popular in Japan? Thanks alot.

You can get Fox and CNN but it's a little different. Other popular shows are on various channels like ER and sports and stuff.

electronics

I think buying a computer here is a total pain in the ass so I'd bring a laptop if you have one. Other stuff like a TV and a boombox you can get here. Nice TVs are super expensive but you can get a cheapie for cheap.

Japan has great blankets. I find my futon mattress to be really comfortable but a real nice bed would be expensive. Other furniture can be picked up at second hand shops or from foreigners in 'sayonara' sells. A lot people just give their shit away. Some people will tell you that you can find nice things in the garbage on 'big garbage day' but I never found anything but a bunch of crap that belonged in the garbage and my standards aren't exactly high.
