Judging from this post and what you have told us on FG Thread: Getting prepared for living in Japan., you know the issues facing you and it really comes down to a matter of personal choice.
An extra degree isn't really going to help you get an English teaching job but it may help you get out of an English-teaching job if you find you want to do something else. Other threads here have debated JET vs language schools and probably tend to come down in favour of JET. If that seems the better option to you, then work from that premise and decide how best to make use of the time.
