Rowers brace for typhoons in Japan
Officials have downplayed fears the world rowing championships in Japan may be cancelled due to the forecasted arrival of typhoons at the race venue in Gifu.
"The weather has been atrocious and the course has been nearly unrowable for most of the week."
Single sculler Mahe Drysdale said the unpredictable weather had made training difficult.
"The wind is strong and the course is rough. We are promised that the next two days will be calm but after that anything could happen," Drysdale said.
Those New Zealand folks must be used to stuff like this.
We Japan FG's have it soft.
