The government of Honduras will issue commemorative coins bearing an image of Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi to mark the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The 1.6-inch-diameter coins will have an image of Honduran President Ricardo Maduro next to Koizumi, "fraternity" written in Japanese and "70" in ancient Mayan characters. "As far as I know, it is rare" that a foreign government would issue coins with images of a Japanese leader, [a spokesman] said...The coins will be priced between 1,800 yen and 3,000 yen and will be unveiled at a reception celebrating the 72nd birthday of Japan's Emperor Akihito on Dec. 6 at the Japanese Embassy in Honduras.
