Koizumi is a Hitler Clone

Frog In a Well's Hitler Watch: Koizumi blog entry picks up and dismisses the China Business article written by Feng Zhaokui and reposted here.
Feng Zhaokui wrote:In actuality, Koizumi has already declared that Japan will further increase cooperation with the US on all levels, including military cooperation. Japan's "9.11" election can't help but remind one of elections in Germany in January 1933. In several areas, the two elections are distressingly similar.

"They both occurred after a country, defeated on the battlefield, took steps to wipe away national humiliation and rise again;

In both situations, a country shamed in military defeat felt persecuted, giving rise to politics of emotions, especially with regard to neighboring countries;

In both situations, this "public pathos" was tapped to become an essential element in the political contest for votes, in the suppression of rational politics, and in the push toward a hawkish road;"

all above are very true of present japan.

I don't think this comparison jives because Adolf was coming from a position of being on the outside, while Koizumi is an insider.
Just like making the comparison between fascism, nazism and what occured in Japan between the two World Wars never seems to work well, because those who led Japan (even the military) on its "little adventure" in the 30s & 40s were already in positions of power and leadership. They didn't have to appeal to the disenchanted masses (especially war vets) to help them take over the reins of power (like the big baldy Mussolini did with his "squadristi" and the March on Rome in 1922).

It's an absurd comparison. It also conveniently ignores the post-war economic boom in Japan.
