Or you can diplomatically call them strong feelings against

Anti-China sentiment is strong in Japan, with more than 70 percent of those between 20 and 40 years of age saying they dislike the country, a survey shows.

ahhh more english language rants against u.s. japan anything not korea or chinese:

those goddamned US never take a lesson from WW 2 and still equip Japan as their trustworthy ally. As everyone know, Japan is still an aggressor against Korea and China in term of territory right. US discern about the territory conflict among Korea, China and Japan but US deliberately handed over China's Douyou to Japan for a few decades ago. US still wanna manipulate Asian nations with her greedy, undermining, selfish Desire without consideration for the asian naions. So US should be backed off from Asian lands. I assure those Arab nations would back off those US morons soon from their lands because American are never helpfull but just a bunch of troublemakers. Americans did profit much Japan after WW 2 as US reap much China's precious booty which were seized by goddamned Japanese so Americans made peace with japan emperor which animal was to be killed as Hitler's Destiny. Because of this reason, those suffered nations have the right to nuke US first then Japan because they are evil accomplices against Chinese and Korean.

I cannot follow what you are trying to say. It would appear, that based on WW II activities, you are advocating a nuclear attack on the US and Japan be carried out by China and Korea.

Is this what you mean and if it is, then I am assuming you are conceding extending the Gobi Desert to Shanghai in the South and Pusan in the East.

If this is surprise to anyone, likewise, what percent of Chinese hate Japanese? They always have those street protests in China but no one goes out and burn down the city here in Japan over China.

gboothe and the other guy:

I didn't write that rant. It's an english language post from a Korean BBS.
There's actually a few hundred of those going around most pro-chinese anti-japanese some with a little dash of anti-americanism throw in for good measure.

I might add, if we're posting Korean anti-jap stuff, you can visit the Hongdae in Seoul and find various pictures of young youthful koreans ripping Koizumi to pieces, little graffitti tags with slogans like FUCKING JAPS, KILL JAPS, and other slogans and usually right next to this grafitti will be a nice poster announcing the latest japanese band playing in the Hongdae this week =)

Okay, I see now. That is more understandable. Sorry for the mis-read. However, HSH may still want to bomb somebody, anybody, when his arm or whatever, gets erect!

These two polls were taken in August I believe

http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/english/doc/2005-08/24/content_471753.htm

The result of a public opinion poll issued Tuesday showed 62.9 percent of the Chinese respondents had a "very bad" or "not very good" impression of Japan, and 37.9 percent of the Japanese respondents had a "very bad" or "not very good" impression of China.

Seventy-four per cent of Japan's general public and 84.9 per cent of the country's intellectuals and experts regarded ties as either "not very good" or "not good at all."

http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/english/doc/2005-08/24/content_471671.htm

In China, 54.7 per cent of the general public see ties as at a low point and 78 per cent of students share the view.

Of Chinese respondents, 59 per cent expressed the hope that the two influential Asian neighbours could better co-operate to manage regional affairs.

While the two sides agree that relations are strained, about 90 per cent of Chinese polled blamed Japan for the situation. More than half of Japanese polled said it was hard to tell who bore responsibility.

Maybe Chinese and Korean are just more 'expressive' of their emotions.

just to further clraify my post the message I posted from the korean BBS comes from a pro north-korean group. Their kinda similar to the Holocaust denial groups in Germany or the KKK or something. They don't represent the whole country in other words who for the most part view the results of WWII as having favored them. Anyway, as for Koreans in my general experience most Koreans hate Japan socially, but have more complex opinions privately. Being Foriegn, a few koreans have told me quite openly they like Japan, but when in the presence of other Koreans have a tendency to say they dislike Japan etc. I read somewhere that Korean schoolchildren hate forieng exchanges programs that take them to Japan, but all the kids I've met come back from Japan big-eyed and rather enthuastic for Japan, but then about a week later are back to proclaiming it as the enemy. As for China, it's China. I mean come on we're talking about a country who's media praised the quality of the tank drivers in the Tianenmen Square Massacre as people maryred themselves in front of them. I might add last time I was in Shanghai there was some documentary featuring American survivors of Japanese concertation camps. It was pretty funny, there were these huge fat 40 year old men who obviously didn't think of themselves as victims while this sad romantic ohhh those poor G.I.s melodies swelled in the background. But with China I think the issue is more complex than in Korea where when Hyundai takes a loan from a Japanese bank it's a news story despite the fact that most of Seoul's major indsturies were built with Japanese or Foriegn aid or banking.

peace,
A
