46 suspects in auto theft ring arrested
NAGOYA (Kyodo) Police said Sunday they have arrested 46 alleged members of an auto theft ring, including eight foreigners, on suspicion of stealing motor vehicles and buying and exporting stolen ones...
The Japanese, most of them gangsters, committed the actual thefts while the foreigners purchased the stolen vehicles, investigators said.
The foreigners took the vehicles apart at hideouts in such locations as Kasugai, Aichi Prefecture, and exported the parts to their home countries aboard freighters from Nagoya port, police said. The parts were then reassembled into whole vehicles upon arrival.
I've always wondered about a number of Pakistani auto dealers in my city. They seemed to have wayyy too close ties to the Yakuza.
