Japanese Goths Confront Political Elite

This ZakZak story (Japanese) reports that the Hatoyama Kaikan has banned goth-lolis from the premises. The building, the former residence of the Hatoyama political clan, is open to the public. However, since the magazine "Gothic Lolita and Punk Brand Book" recommended the building as a backdrop for goth-loli fashion, the place became overrun with amateur cameramen setting up and girls changing in the toilets.

Now that is funny! Places like this are a dime a dozen in the states but I suppose unusual in Japan. I wonder if the few Catholic churches in Japan have the same problem.

Place like this exist all over Japan. They are not well advertised and often the locals don't even know they exist.

For example in my city Bansuiso is being underused as the annex to the prefectural art gallery. Why no one has ever thought about opening the place up for weddings is anyones guess.

A large number of my students have never even heard of the place despite the fact that it is almost right in the dead centre of town.
