U.S. official suggests N Korea counterfeiting yen

TOKYO — A former official at the U.S. National Security Council has indicated the likelihood of North Korea counterfeiting not only U.S. dollar but Japanese yen and Chinese yuan notes as well, the Yomiuri Shimbun reported Friday.
Michael Green, who retired as director for Asian affairs at the NSC earlier this month, said North Korea is purchasing in the international marketplace inks of the same colors as those for use in not only U.S. dollar notes but yen, yuan and euro bills as well. He was quoted as saying he would not be surprised if North Korea is counterfeiting yen and yuan notes
