Yakuza controlling both fight & wrestling industries

Postby Taro Toporific » Mon Feb 10, 2003 10:56 am

why the Yakuza's now in the dangerous position of controlling both the fight & wrestling industries
The article that I wrote last week detailed how business decisions are currently being made in the Japanese business (and I tie in the suicides of Shoichi Arai & Naoto Morishita) and why the Yakuza's now in the dangerous position of controlling both the fight & wrestling industries by being the financial backers, rather than trying to take money off the top from ticket sales. I don't think the Yakuza would be very thrilled with this article... production companies and copyright owners of Japanese footage (in Japan) are desparately trying to raise (or inflate) the value of their VTR collection (if the company they have footage of is struggling) by bringing in top American names in an attempt to try to highball the "collateral value" of footage.
