[floatl]Image[/floatl]Yomiuri: Famous flutist's golden flutes stolen from locker
Two flutes worth 12 million yen belonging to flutist Yumi Yamagata were stolen from a coin locker at JR Tokyo Station, police said. According to the police, Yamagata, 46, put two flutes and a bottle of wine in a coin locker in an underground passage of JR Tokyo Station on Sunday at about 11:30 a.m. When she came back to pick up the items at about 9 p.m., she could not find the key to the locker. She and the manager of the lockers searched the area for the flutes after finding the locker empty, but did not find them. Yamagata told her coworkers that she locked the locker, but does not know how she lost the key. The flutes, one worth 7 million yen and the other 5 million yen, are made of gold and platinum, the police said...more...

She put twelve million yen's worth of flutes in a crappy spam-can coin locker! Damn, it's right about what most music professors say about flaky flutists always hyperventilating.

"two flutes and a bottle of wine" - sounds like she had some "special alone-time" planned. ]This one time, at band camp ..." [/I]

Musician Yumi Yamagata has lost flutes returned
KAWASAKI -- Two flutes belonging to famous musician Yumi Yamagata that went missing from a JR Tokyo Station locker have been found in a locker at Kawasaki Station, police said.
Yamagata left the two flutes worth 12 million yen in total in a coin-operated locker at Tokyo Station at about 11:30 a.m. on April 23, while she went to lunch with her friends. Later, Yamagata found that she had lost the locker key.
When officials of the company that operated the lockers opened the door, the flutes were missing. The flutist then filed a report with police.
About 90 minutes later, a man found what appeared to be Yamagata's flutes when he opened a locker at JR Kawasaki Station. He handed the flutes to a nearby restaurant worker who contacted the company that ran the lockers.
The company handed the flutes over to Kawasaki Police Station on Wednesday after reading about Yamagata's lost flutes in a newspaper.
