
Canadian beer maker Sleeman Breweries Ltd. has agreed to a C$400 million takeover by the Sapporo Breweries...The two brewers already have a business connection with Sleeman brewing Sapporo beer in Canada under a licensing agreement, so the Japanese firm had been considered a likely bidder. Molson is in league with Coors and Labatt is owned by Interbrew so this deal means all Canada's major brewers will be in foreign hands.
