Submarine Disposal

Postby kurohinge1 » Fri Jun 03, 2005 1:19 pm

Russian-Japanese submarine disposal agreement may be signed before the end of 2005

MOSCOW, June 2 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian-Japanese executive agreement on the disposal of nuclear submarines may be signed before the end of 2005, RIA Novosti was told at the Federal Atomic Energy Agency (Rosatom) on Thursday.

Disposal bins may be available at the usual locations before the year's end.

Japanese supermarket chain "Jusco" has gone one step further by also proposing recycling of non-nuclear submarines in the protoype recycle bin pictured below.

"The total cost of the Russian-Japanese nuclear submarine disposal project is over $30 million," said the Rosatom spokesman.

Nah, they're just really small subs. ;)
And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

The Russian-Japanese program adopted in November 2005, envisions the dismantling of one Viktor-I class submarine, three Viktor-III class submarines and one Charlie-I class submarine [Built to attack Australia??? ]. The Japanese government promised to allocate 100 million dollars for dismantling works and another 100 million dollars for eliminating the weapon-grade plutonium extracted from them . . . more

Maybe they can consider dismantling the name of that Russian town too.
