Author Masashi Harada has published a travel guidebook for Japan with a twist. A Travel Guide to Queer Japan: Exploring Queer Spirits focuses on love and intimate relationships between men in Japanese history in conjunction with Lulu (www.lulu.com). Japan has a long history related to love and intimate relations between the same sex. Spiritual relations and intimacy between men and the beauty of young men are accepted and respected among Japanese people. A Travel Guide to Queer Japan: Exploring Queer Spirits explores Japan's queer spirits via historical and religious locations throughout the country. Included are queer towns, Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples related to queer people or queer historical persons. In addition to descriptions, more than 110 pictures and travel information with location maps are included as well in this book.
