Fukuda's LDP branch received illegal donation from foreign firm

MAEBASHI -- A ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) branch in Gunma Prefecture headed by LDP presidential candidate Yasuo Fukuda received 200,000 yen in illegal political donations from a company run by a North Korean national, it has emerged.
The Political Funds Control Law prohibits politicians and political organizations from receiving political donations from foreign nationals.
An aide to Fukuda said the branch will return the money to the donor. "We didn't confirm the nationality of the company's operator because we thought it would be impolite. We intend to return all the money to the donor."...more...
