
Three people were slightly injured after a gas tank exploded at a sushi bar in downtown Tokyo on New Year's Day, police said. At around 11:50 a.m. on Tuesday, an explosion occurred in the kitchen of a sushi bar in the Kameari district of Katsushika-ku, Tokyo, local police said. Two workers suffered burns and a 20-year-old passer-by suffered damage to his ear, but none of them is in serious condition. Two customers who were at the establishment escaped unhurt. Employees have told investigators that a gas tank for a cooking burner exploded. Local police are investigating the exact cause of the blast.
