Does anyone know of an affordable building inspector I can hire?

I live in an apartment I LOVE in Tokyo but I strongly suspect that my place has asbestos on the ceiling. If so, I need and want to move out asap, but I need proof of such a thing in order to get back the over 500,000yen I plunked down to get the place so I can use the money for another apartment. Anybody know a building inspector?

Well, this might the Asia Ice Hockey league even smaller. Yukijirushi folded up their hockey club after it came out they were re-using expired food.

There is also another scandal involving Oji (and Nippon Paper):

Firms faked recycled-paper ratios in postcards

THE ASAHI SHIMBUN

Even postcards--including millions sent for the New Year--have been subject to corporate deception.

Japan Post Holdings Co. said five leading paper mills producing postcards for the recently privatized company used a significantly lower percentage of recycled paper than what they signed up for.

....

The other companies that fabricated the figures are: Hokuetsu Paper Mills Ltd.; Mitsubishi Paper Mills Ltd.; Daio Paper Corp.; and Oji Paper Co.

These four companies offered similar explanations on why they did not comply with Japan Post's specifications.

Industry leader Oji Paper began falsifications no later than in 2006, a senior company official said Thursday.

Oji Paper is expected to soon release the results of its in-house investigation.(IHT/Asahi: January 18,2008)

Oh dear... the nice folks at Oji Paper is not going to like this...

I'll bet that they've already got Dentsu on the case to make certain it does not get published in the Japanese-language press, and just in case, set loose a few private investigators to see if they can dig up any dirt on this annoying smug Kiwi-Oz publisher. Any unpaid taxes? Messy divorces? Terrie's a resident foreigner so probably some off-shore tax evasion ...

Asbestos ain't such a big deal. And, anyways, foreigner's bodies are different from Japanese, so it should not affect them.
