Mainichi: Man scared of Chihuahua kicks it to death
A man has been arrested for kicking a Chihuahua to death because he was scared of it, police said Tuesday. Yoshiyuki Tanaka, 44, a company employee from Chikusa-ku, Nagoya, stands accused of destroying property. He admitted to the allegations during questioning. "I was scared of the dog," he was quoted as telling investigators. Police have already referred him to public prosecutors. Tanaka kicked the 4-month-old Chihuahua in the stomach on a sidewalk in Chikusa-ku at around 4:50 p.m. on Sunday, local police said. The dog died from a rupture of its internal organs. He attempted to walk away from the scene, but a 47-year-old man who passed by overpowered him and handed him over to police. The dog, which weighed only two kilograms, was being walked by its owner, a 40-year-old man.
