Blair Faces Grilling in Japan Over Death of "Mole"

Postby Kurofune » Sat Jul 19, 2003 11:02 am

But [Tony Blair's] first news conference of the trip, with Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi on Saturday, looked likely to be dominated by Kelly's death, the circumstances of which the government said would be investigated in a judicial inquiry.

Blair will have to deflect the expected barrage of questions about Kelly without his most trusted advisers. His communications chief Alastair Campbell, who is at the centre of the weapons row, returned to London from Washington on Thursday after Blair met U.S. President George W. Bush.
