Many awkward and suspicious subjects are debated in the heated discussion about Prime Minister Koizumi's plan to privatize the Japan Highway Public Corporation (JHPC).
The JHPC has been using a huge amount of taxpayer money and run up a huge amount debt as it built highways across Japan claiming to be creating social assets.
The mission of the JHPC has been, 'The Corporation is for constructing highways and its subsidiaries are for hiding profits.' Also the JHPC has been using its family companies as places for rehiring executives after their retirement.
