I watched the show and remember there was some conflict between the British and Japanese doctors about the procedure after he elected to have it done in the UK. The UK doctors didn't give serious effort to diagnose the problem, but were full of bluster about an operation they had never done before once the camera was rolling. The doctor acted like an (even more) arrogant Gordon Ramsay, if that's possible...

I thought his hiccups returned, but much less frequently. Hmmm. Maybe I don't remember the show correctly.
