Survey Suggests Japan & Korea Still Not On Same Page

Postby Mulboyne » Mon Apr 19, 2010 8:04 am

Yomiuri: Japanese, S. Korean respondents have nearly reverse views of bilateral relations
Fifty-seven percent of Japanese respondents to a recent joint Japan-South Korea survey believe Tokyo-Seoul relations are "good" and 29 percent think ties are "bad," while only 24 percent of the South Korean respondents think the ties are "good" and 73 percent think they are "bad"...When the Japanese pollees were asked whether they regarded South Korea as trustworthy, 45 percent replied "Yes" and 41 percent "No." In South Korea, 80 percent said they considered Japan "not trustworthy," far larger than 18 percent who said Japan is trustworthy...more...

I find these poll results a great reflection of the countries' respective education systems: South Korea vigorously indoctrinates its students with anti-Japanese sentiment while Japanese pupils are not taught about how much their ancestors angered people in other countries during the first half of the last century (especially).
Gold medals to the Luddites in both countries.

I am not really sure where I am going, I just hope that when I get there, I can sit down because I am sure my feet will be tired.

Every single real Japanese wholeheartedly think there is no need and want to make friends with Korea which never can live without Japan and always stalk Japan like a fly. There would be no influence for Japan if by any chance Korea Peninsula disappeared soon. Or perhaps I should say, "Disappear right now!!!!"

Well, at least he has a track record of maintaining that wonderful political tradition of just making shit up if things aren't going his way....

Japan's problems can't and won't be solved by politicians. Bureaucratic reform is the only hope....and if you hope that's gonna happen, have I got a bridge you're sure to be interested in.
