I wondered what happened to these crimes. I hadn't read about one in months. I'd guess that 60 mill is a record. I saw in the Japanese language Mainichi (maybe it was there) where some ATMs were being outfitted with steel cages to prevent these sorts of crimes. I'll see if I can track that down.
