WOW - great find 2Triky.

Is this paper mache? Or what? Stunning work though.

He must go through a heap of band-aids with all the paper cuts he must get. :p

I imagine he'd be quite cross if he completed a statue of the golden gate bridge only to stain it with his own blood.

Thanks. I'm glad you like it.

I don't think it's paper mache in the traditional sense but he does use glue to construct his sculptures.

I found a Youtube video which illustrates his process. Take a look.

I'll never be able to wipe my arse the same way again having seen paper used in such an exquisite way...

I hope you're not using paper quite so stiff to do your business in any case. Rough way to start the day.

Fortunately, I'm not in the habit of sticking stiff things up my arse, but I've heard Miss Japan enjoys it....

It seems that Jeff is connected to Leo Monahan. Who has been doing Paper sculpture for over 30 years. He was my design teacher in college. He is an amazing artist.

I don't, but the links (to Miss Japan and not me, I assume) are somewhere on the site...
Sorry, I've got PMS today, otherwise I'd look 'em for you...

Nishinaka certainly has talent and the academic pedigree that helped foster it...being a graduate of the Art Center in Pasadena put him in some esteemed company in the design and art worlds.

A good friend of mine went there.

Incredible stamina...but I guess poor Ms. Sculpture is probably a bit tired by now...
