TOKYO — Three Britons visiting Japan to watch the World Cup soccer finals were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of paying with fake U.S. currency at restaurants in Sapporo, police said.

The police allege that Mark Morris, 40, and the other two, all of whom said they are British nationals, tried to pay with several fake $50 bills at restaurants in Sapporo's Susukino entertainment district at around 10:10 p.m. Tuesday. (Kyodo News)
