A man who says his 12-year-old daughter's suicide was triggered by bullying at school has told the Mainichi that his wife's Filipino nationality may have been one of the reasons for the bullying. Ryuji Uemura, 50, made the comment on the possible cause of the bullying of his daughter Akiko, who committed suicide in Kiryu, Gunma Prefecture, in an interview with the Mainichi on Oct. 26. "I think the fact that her mother was a Filipino was also one of the causes of the bullying," he said. Uemura said that when his daughter was in the fifth grade in 2009, her 41-year-old mother went to her school for a class observation day for the first time. Maybe the underlying problem is that kids are now taught that fighting is always wrong. Well yeah, sometimes it is, but when I was a kid my mom taught me to fight; it was more acceptable then. The no. 1 rule was "don't get mad, get even!"

For verbal attacks, don't ever let the bullies know that they hurt you (that's what they want); if you can't ignore it, then think of something even nastier to say back, kids.

Most bullies are also cowardly, so if hurt little they'll go crying home to their mamas.

word on that, my mom was tough like that. she told me to never back down and fight back no matter what. "dont get your ass kicked doin nothing, go down with a fight"

I was the small kid, so everyone tried to fuck with me, but I always fought back even if they weren't fightin... that stopped 90% of the bullying really quick

then you have the bully that is just a puss with small man mentality... cant get rid of them SOBs

My kid is 2 and i am teaching him ground game now... put your kids in wreslting, it pays off.

I don't know how I missed this thread but I have to say that my I agree with everyone else about fighting back. Kids and especially little boys have been so pussified. My dad tells a story about how he got beat up and got his arm broken in kindergarten when he moved to a new town. When he and ny uncle who was older and attended the same elementary school got home the first thing my grandfather (who was old school even for the old school) did was spank my uncle for not coming to his little brother's defense.

Fast-forward about 40 years to when my mom's best friend taught her little boy that violence is always wrong and he should turn the other cheek like Jesus. As soon as the other kids in his school realized he wouldn't fight back no matter what they bullied him relentlessly. It was so bad she had to take him out of the local public school and put him into a private one. I remember she told me at the time that she really regretted raising her son like that and she realized that she should have taught him to fight back.

James Jones signed a plea deal today that requires him to serve six months probation and pay a $1,000 fine. Jones must also take classes in anger management and victim awareness and perform 10 hours of community service

All that for some verbal threats against some shit head kids who bullied a girl with CP and a pussy bus driver who didn't defend her. I hope he can eventually get that BS expunged from his record. If one of my siblings or I was disabled and encountered the same thing my mom would have got on the bus swinging a baseball bat.
