The Cabinet Office has announced the results of a survey it conducted of seniors in 5 countries. A thousand over-60s were asked if government policy should favour the young. In Japan, 28% said yes against 24% in Sweden, 17% in Germany, 16% Korea and 8% in America. In the US, 62% thought policy should favour the elderly, the highest in the survey, while both Sweden and Japan registered the lowest figure of 49%. The Asahi wonders (Japanese) if this means the elderly in Japan are young at heart.
