Japanese police have asked immigration authorities to make stricter checks of foreigners who are accepted to Japanese businesses as job trainees.....
Police say most of these trainees disappeared after finding higher-paying jobs elsewhere and overstayed.
This system is aimed at providing young people from developing countries with vocational training at Japanese manufacturers and marine products factories. It applies for a maximum of three years and is carried out under the supervision of immigration authorities.
