Yokohama Approves Wider Use of Controversial Textbook

The Yokohama Board of Education has approved wider use of a controversial history textbook authored by the Japanese Society for History Textbook Reform. The board had previously approved the book for schools in eight wards but their decision now covers 149 junior high schools with 80,000 pupils and marks the largest take-up for the book anywhere in the country.

Considering the widespread popularity of the extreme right in this cuntry, I sometimes think it would be a good idea for the general punter to let the right-wingers take over running the place because it was such a tremendous success the last time they did so.
