Risk of big quake in Tokyo area within 4 years may be 70% but it's OK, we'll survive.

Odd news from Japan and all things Japanese around the world.

Tough enough eh..the building already had a good shakin' last year. A much larger one that's nearby may prove "too tough for Tokyo."

I don't want to sound grim, but 5,600 people in Tokyo is still good odds that you'll survive. 1 in 2321 just for the living population. I no longer try to avoid/predict Earthquakes.

Maybe the odds are in one's favor but noway in hell I want to be anywhere in downtown when that shit hits. Death and injury aside...as if the earthquake isn't bad enough, remember what happened on 3/11? Gridlock, hoarding, transportation shut down, etc. With everyone ready to go ransack their local conbini and supermarket, it's going to get real ugly...

That's really a brave prediction. A large earthquake in a country that has earthquakes of varying sizes daily and normally does have a big one every five to ten years. I mean this guys are really going out on the limb of prognostication aren't they?
