Foreign Artist Fingered in Shark Dumping

News that police had discovered a 1.5m shark carcass in Yoyogi Park soon caught the attention of Japan's netizens. Some quickly noted it was similar to one seen outside a kaiten sushi joint in Shibuya called Daidokoya. It seems the restaurant had got hold of the shark intending to put it on display inside. The innards had ben removed and it wasn't rotting. It was larger than anticipated, however, and so they stuck it outside. This wasn't a great solution so the restaurant decided to dump it. A foreign man, who described himself as an artist, heard they were planning a disposal and offered to take it off their hands, suggesting he might be able to find some use for it. He turned up with a trolley to collect the shark and eyewitnesses saw him pushing it along the road. Some took photos and the one above was widely retweeted after the news broke. No-one knows whether the man decided to ditch it himself but, if he did, he could be liable to a charge of illegal dumping unless he comes forward to claim it as lost property.

Because NO GOOD JAPANESE CITIZEN could have illegally dumped anything... SINCE the shark was illegally dumped, it was the act of an evil fureignur...

Now if the guy come to claim it, it' was because it was just an explemplary citizen who happened to have missplaced his property. BECAUSE OF SOME FOREIGNER ANYWAY.

(Overslept... late for my morning medication, must avoid contact with circular logic and japanese society as a whole for the next 24h)

Would be funny if they found out that the artist sold it to some Japanese Highschoolers and they dumped it off at yoyogi koen.

but if that hit the news it would be FG sells shark to Highschool kids "blahblahblah something that the FG did wrong"

Would a 1.5 m shark really weigh 100 kg after being gutted? That seems heavy to me. Even before being gutted that seems pretty heavy.

My dad caught a sturgeon that was 2m long and weighed like 220lbs.. not to mention that it was pregnant and had hella egs.

guts are light weight compared to its head and muscle area.

The man had planned to take the shark with him when he was done shooting. However, the 100-kilogram animal proved too heavy for one person to move, and he left it in the park under a blue tarp, intending to come back for it the following afternoon. Unfortunately he never got the chance, as the shark was discovered before he could come and get it.

Yeah right - he says that NOW.... I reckon he was just hoping to shoot, dump and run.

Typical man... :bukkake:

"I'm surprised this has caused such an uproar," he was quoted as telling police, and has apparently expressed regret. Police do not intend to pursue a criminal investigation against the man, stating he had very little criminal intent.

Very little criminal intent? WTF does that mean?
