US-Developed Tea Brand To Sell In Japan

Postby Mulboyne » Tue Aug 04, 2009 3:01 am

[floatl]Image[/floatl]Ito-en is launching a new brand called "Tea's Tea" which the company first developed with their US subsidiary for the American market. It has been on sale there since 2002 but, following the recent success of other aromatic teas, it will now be rolled out in Japan too. Two varieties are being introduced initially: a bergamot & orange flavour and a fresh apple tea, both labelled "New York Style". Sales actually began back in April but the campaign is being launched now with the appointment of Asami Mizukawa as campaign girl. Think of this as the Lexus of the drinks industry.

I wonder when they are releasing the "Humbolt Style" version.

You mean they're going to spend too much money on fancy storefronts in central Tokyo, sell virtually no product, and eventually embark on a strategy of selling to resident gaijin in a last ditch effort?

That's because you live among the rich... here Lexus is big... The brand of choice for all the people too rich to drive a Toyota but not enough to buy a krauter (Merc, BMW or even the cheaper Audis)

And you realize that every time a Lexus needs repair (which is like never), the parts are Toyota.

Well, considering it is a Toyota that was produced as a luxuary line, that would seem reasonable....

Do you know what Lexus means Tommy-chan? I'm thinking of getting one for the next goatmobile....

Automatic lay.
Instead of saying "Lexus," women would be saying "have sex with us."

Yeah... But at least it's normal, and known from the start, like in... Lexus is the luxury spinoff from toyota... Meanwhile, all Nissan K jidoosha are rebadged Suzukis. The Mitsubishi Lancer station wagon, Mazda Familia, and Nissan wingroad are the same plateform. Common with the Nissan Tiida, which is in fact a Renault Megane II plateform. The Nissan Note and the Renault Modus are the same car. Renault Koleos, Nissan Xtrail, same thing. In Some markets, the Renault Kangoo is a Nissan Something, same fot the Renault Traffic. When a car maker become customer of another carmaker to sell something. You know that things are out of control.

But for the little more insulting side, do you know everytime you repair an Audi all the parts are volkswagen at best... But with the audi markup, only the sand used for assraping when they give you the bill is genuine from Ingolsadt

For VAG, plateform sharing pushed to the limit, the new seat Elblowjobio is a Audi A4 B7 with a new bumper, the former A4 B5 was the same as the Passat... B5... (to the point of both sharing the same factory repair manual), the Audi TT mk1 is a Golf chassis with a cuter body... wich is also an A3 chassis, but also a jetta/Bora... the VW Touareg/Porsche Cayenne/Audi Q7 are basically the same car. But the A4 B8 two doors is now called the A5 and got her own plateform, except for the 5 doors sportback wich is still called A5 but have an A4 B8 chassis, it's nearly a full time job to keep up with the clusterfuck of the VAG lineup...without even touching the inbreeding between the R8 (streetcar) and the lamborghini Gallardo or Murcielago. The only unique car in the group might be the Bugatti Veyron... And if you consider Lamborghini as an Italian brand... Then the Bugatti is French... and handmade in France anyway, so it's no longer a kraut... even if it's a 100% volkswagen design. (when french engineer design a sportcar it end up either with a souped up Twingo, or... the allmighty Alpine 310, to quoke J Clarkson, "when the designer of alpine car saw a Porsche he noticed that the engine was all in the back behind the rear axle he said 'that's completly wrong... I will do the same...' " It's basically a car who even in its lowcost 90bhp version can kill even the safest driver after the first raindrop.)

Image
It's basically sex on wheels (a plasticky sex to be honest)... and if you are less than 1m70 you might even be able to fit in the cockpit and take it fo a ride. It's one of the few cars that make the original Mini look like a truck when parked beside. Think: build quality of a Yugo, roadworthiness of a shopping trolley without the practicality and pricetag of a Porsche.
