It is a great read actually. He is a "tourist attraction".

But some of the other claims are really out there. I wonder if there will be any follow up or if he has just been dining out (on bad pizza) on these stories for the last few years?

First of all, the realization that they wouldn't be there, wouldn't it be for the desertion of their father and the kidnapping of their mother.

Then there is the radical switch from North-Korean to Japanese society.

How did they cope with all this intellectually and mentally?

One could write a book about this.
